EXTREME RISK
In this elevated category, communal activities are restricted: restaurants are limited to outdoor dining; retail shops are capped at 50 percent capacity; churches are limited to 25 percent capacity; gyms may have six members at a time; and long-term care facilities, including Columbia Basin Care, may not allow any indoor visitors (except end-of-life situations).

January 27, 2021

With heavy hearts we are sad to report that a beloved resident has passed away this evening. The resident tested positive for Covid-19 on January 22, and was under medical care at an off-site location.

In addition, today five residents have tested positive for Covid-19. At this time, the individuals are asymptomatic (showing no signs of illness) and are receiving care in an isolated area of the facility with dedicated staff following strict infectious disease protocols.

Our three employees, who tested positive earlier this month, continue to isolate at home.

Please know that we are doing everything in our power to stop the spread of this virus and we are working with state and local health partners to ensure all possible steps are taken to reduce additional impact. Caring for others is a responsibility we take to heart and we are grieving the loss of a treasured individual trusted in our care. Out of consideration for the family and confidentiality required by HIPAA, we cannot release resident names or personal information.

Last week we completed of our first full round of Covid-19 vaccinations for residents and staff. While the vaccines are 95 percent effective, they do not reach full efficacy until two weeks after the second shot is administered. Therefore, we must still take all precautions to stay safe and healthy. While we are hopeful the vaccine will help turn the tide of the pandemic, we remain vigilant in protecting the most vulnerable among us.

Thank you for your support and patience in this very difficult time.

December 31, 2020

Columbia Basin Care is among first in
the nation to receive the Covid-19 vaccine

I+Got+My+Vaccine.jpg

"I'm so excited!" says Julie Kimbell, a certified medication aide who stands first in line for the Covid-19 vaccine. For 33 years she's cared for the sick and aging at Columbia Basin Care and she's eager to receive the life-saving shot. "Getting this vaccine means I can protect our residents, my family, everyone!"

On December 31, 2020, Columbia Basin Care joined a historic moment as employees and residents rolled up their sleeves to be among the first in the nation to receive the Covid-19 vaccine.

Founded in 1964, Columbia Basin Care is the region's only independent, not-for-profit care center for short-stay rehabilitation and long-term care. Located in The Dalles, the health facility is home to 60 senior citizens and workplace for over 100 people.

Because more than 100,000 long-term care residents have died from the virus in the U.S., Oregon has prioritized residents of long-term care facilities, as well as frontline healthcare workers, to receive the first immunizations.

"We're hopeful this will be a turning point and a fresh start to the new year," says Leana Tennison, Columbia Basin Care's Director of Nursing, as she orchestrates the facility-wide vaccinations.

Today was the first of a two-shot process; the second Pfizer-Biontech shot, provided by Consonus Pharmacy, will be provided in January. The vaccine is free to all residents and staff, and will be offered again in January to new residents and employees who did not take part in the initial offering. Participation is encouraged but not required.

From an early age, Kimbell felt a pull to help others. “It’s the hardest work you’ll ever do,” she says, “but it’s the most rewarding." This year has been even more difficult, she admits, but the vaccine offers hope and a bit of relief.

Scientists, health experts and medical professionals have worked around-the-clock to provide a vaccine proven to be safe and effective.

"It's been fully vetted by the FDA (Federal Drug Administration), the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), and OHA (Oregon Health Authority)," says Kimbell. "It's been tested, and I'm excited to protect my friends, my family, and everyone I love and care for."

Still, the pandemic is far from over. The Pfizer vaccine requires two doses for full efficacy, and it will be months before enough of the population has received them to reach a safe threshold within the community.

"This past year has been such a challenge," says Jasen Tennison, Executive Director of Columbia Basin Care. "We're grateful that everyone has worked hard to keep our residents and staff healthy but we ask that you hold on a bit longer to help ensure the health and safety of our most vulnerable. Please continue to wear your mask, wash your hands, maintain your distance, and avoid large gatherings."

Caring for our residents and staff is our top priority and a responsibility we take to heart. In this challenging time, we're working hard to protect you and those you love, and will keep you updated as we have more information.

Thank you for your continued support.

December 3, 2020

We have important health updates for you:

Testing
We currently have no confirmed cases of Covid-19. As required by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, we continue to conduct mandatory testing of all employees. In addition, we remain vigilant with daily health screenings of residents and staff, wearing of masks and shields at all times, and conducting deep and thorough cleaning of the entire facility.

Extreme Risk
Wasco County is one of 25 counties Governor Kate Brown has deemed “extreme risk” for the spread of Covid-19, and restrictions will remain in place through December 17. Please see details below.

Under the extreme risk category, Columbia Basin Care and other long-term care facilities in the county are not permitted any indoor visitors. Window Visits are allowed, by appointment.

Wasco County has seen over 100 cases in the past two weeks. By comparison, it took over three months to log the county’s first 100 cases. This mirrors what is happening statewide, with cases and hospitalizations at all-time highs.

The situation is urgent and we need your help: please wear a mask, stay home as much as possible, attend only essential gatherings, and wash your hands frequently.

We know this is a difficult time, and we appreciate your support.

We have important health & safety news for you:

Holiday Caution
We are very concerned about the increase of Covid-19 especially as we enter the holiday season. The situation is urgent and we're asking for your help. Please wear a mask, stay home as much as possible, attend only essential gatherings, and wash your hands frequently.

Even with these precautions, indoor, in-person gatherings are risky. We encourage you to celebrate with your immediate household only. At this time, saying "no" to group events is an act of caring, for your loved ones, and for our essential workers who care for your loved ones. Please see below for the alert from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

We know this is a difficult time, and we carry the weight of this challenge with you.

Leadership Change
Lastly, I'm pleased to offer a bright spot of happy news. After five years as Executive Director, I'm taking on a new role with Aidan Health Services. Jasen Tennison has been named Executive Director. He has spent nearly a year working with me in a comprehensive training program and I feel confident and excited for the compassionate leadership he will bring to Columbia Basin Care.

Sincerely,
Aubree Schreiner | Executive Director

November 17, 2020

We're pleased to report we currently have no confirmed cases of Covid-19. Test results for our two employees are negtive, showing they do not have the virus.

However, to stop the rapid spread of Covid-19, Oregon will be in a statewide two-week freeze starting tomorrow (Nov 18). These measures are critical in limiting the spread of the virus, reducing risk in communities more vulnerable to serious illness and death, and helping conserve hospital capacity so that all Oregonians can continue to have access to quality care.

This new measure prohibits indoor visiting in long-term care facilities. At Columbia Basin Care, Indoor Visits are on hold, except for end-of-life or compassionate care situations. Window and Outdoor Visits are permitted by appointment.

November 16, 2020

Covid-19 is currently spreading rapidly across the nation and throughout Oregon. In response, Governor Kate Brown has announced a statewide set of restrictions. Many industries, businesses, and individuals will be affected, including long-term care facilities and Columbia Basin Care.

From November 18 to December 2, Oregon will be in a statewide two-week freeze to stop the rapid spread of Covid-19. These measures are critical in limiting the spread of the virus, reducing risk in communities more vulnerable to serious illness and death, and helping conserve hospital capacity so that all Oregonians can continue to have access to quality care.

This new measure prohibits indoor visiting in long-term care facilities. At Columbia Basin Care,
Indoor Visits are on hold, except for end-of-life or compassionate care situations. However,
Window and Outdoor Visits are permitted by appointment.

We currently have no confirmed cases of Covid-19, though we are waiting on test results for two employees who have had contact with a person who has tested positive. We will inform you of
the results when we receive them.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

November 11, 2020

We're committed to keeping you updated with health information.

We currently have no confirmed cases of covid but do have two employees who have had contact with an individual who has tested positive. Upon notice, the employees were immediately tested and sent home to quarantine. Although they show no signs or symptoms of illness, we are taking every measure to ensure the safety and health of all residents and staff and will notify you as soon as we have test results.

As required by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, we continue to conduct mandatory testing of all employees. In addition, we remain vigilant with daily health screenings of residents and staff, wearing of masks and shields at all times, and conducting deep and thorough cleaning of the entire facility.

At this time, Wasco County's covid positivity rate is 2.2 percent. As the virus reaches record levels across Oregon, we urge you to wear a mask, keep physical distance from others, and limit social gatherings.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

With approval from the Oregon Department of Human Services and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, we now offer indoor visits — with strict controls that include vigilant health screening, masks, face shields, physical distancing, and monitoring by staff. All visits are by appointment only and must be scheduled online or through the Activity Department.

Please review our Indoor Visit Guidelines.

We know it's important for our residents to see their loved ones in person, and we have implemented organized and safe controls to facilitate indoor visits. As covid cases reach record levels across the nation, we insist visitors adhere to the protocols and procedures we have put in place and appreciate your patience as we work to facilitate visits in a manner that is safe for you, your loved one, and our staff.

This is a difficult time for everyone. Please know that we are following directions from federal and

We're committed to keeping you informed and have important health & safety updates for you:

• Testing

We're pleased to report we currently have no confirmed cases of Covid-19. As required by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), we continue to conduct mandatory weekly testing of all employees.

• Visits

The Oregon Department of Human Services and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid is now allowing limited, structured indoor visits — based on community positivity rates, individual facility circumstances, and utilizing best practices for physical distancing.

We know it's important for our residents to see their loved ones in person, and we are now in the process of implementing measured, organized, and safe steps to help facilitate indoor visits. Please note this is not a return to pre-pandemic practices; visitation remains restricted. We will continue to offer Window and Outdoor Visits as well.

For months we've been working hard to mitigate threats of Covid-19 from affecting our residents and staff. Now, as cases hit record highs in Oregon and across the nation, we must be even more vigilant. We ask that visitors adhere to the protocols and procedures we are putting in place and we appreciate your patience as we work to facilitate indoor visits in a manner that is safe for residents and staff.

This is a difficult time for everyone. Please know that we are strictly adhering to all directions from federal and state regulators and health departments. We also want to be sure you understand that indoor visit permissions may fluctuate based on community case counts and possible internal cases.

September 11, 2020

We're committed to keeping you informed of health issues that may affect you and your loved ones, and appreciate your support as we work to ensure a healthy & safe community.

Covid-19

We're pleased to report we have no cases of Covid-19 at Columbia Basin Care.

Air Quality
With poor air quality due to wildfires across the state, smoke pollution can increase the risk and severity of respiratory infections, including Covid-19. When smoke is heavy, it is essential to lessen exposure to pollution, particularly for older adults with vulnerable health.

•  Remain indoors with windows and doors closed.

•  Avoid vigorous physical activity.

•   Run your air conditioner if you have one. Make sure it has a clean filter and that it is                       recirculating the indoor air to prevent drawing additional smoke inside.

• Avoid using indoor or outdoor wood-burning appliances, including fireplaces and candles.

Visiting Opportunities

We continue to provide several ways for you to connect with your loved ones.

• Window Visits are available by appointment.
Visitor and Resident chat via cell phone through Activity Room window.

• Outdoor Visits are available by appointment.

August 8, 2020

Good news! We have received results from our Covid-19 baseline testing of all residents and staff, and the results are negative.

As mentioned last week, we have one employee who, in separate testing, was confirmed positive for the virus. However, the individual had not worked for over two weeks and residents and staff are at limited risk for exposure to the virus. This person is isolating at home and will return to work when cleared by state health officials.

Caring for our residents and staff is a responsibility we take to heart. Thank you for your continued vigilance with health precautions: washing your hands, keeping your distance, and limiting group activities. Because every action creates a reaction, we are truly in this together.

August 5, 2020

This evening we received confirmation that an employee of Columbia Basin Care has tested positive for Covid-19.

The individual was last in the facility on July 19 — over two weeks ago — and residents and staff are at limited risk for exposure to the virus. This person is now isolating at home and following state health guidelines.

Caring for our residents and staff is our top priority and a responsibility we take to heart. We are deeply concerned for the health and well-being of all our residents and staff, and are doing everything in our power to stop the spread of this virus. We continue to follow established infectious disease prevention protocols and the latest guidance from public health officials.

“Our hearts sink with this news and our efforts remain focused on keeping everyone safe," said Aubree Schreiner, executive director of Columbia Basin Care. “We are working with state and local health partners to ensure all possible steps are taken to help reduce impact to our residents and staff. Our every action is aimed at protecting and serving our residents, staff and their families."

In this challenging time, we're working hard to protect you and those you love, and will keep you updated as we have more information.

WHAT ARE WE DOING ?
We're taking exceptional precautions, above and beyond our normal infection control protocols, to ensure residents and employees are well and safe. We're working hard to reduce the risk of exposure and spread, with the following actions:

• Daily health screening of staff.
• All staff wear personal protective equipment at all times.
• Hand sanitization required of every employee upon entry to building.
• Increased disinfection of entire facility to reduce potential germs.
• Group resident activities have been cancelled.
• Distanced meals in resident dining rooms.
• Monitoring all residents for fever and cough.
• Limit travel by staff and residents between first and second floor.
• Continuous communication with medical directors and providers.
• Continuous in-service trainings with all departments.
• Communication with the local and state public health for guidance.
• No outside food is permitted in building.
• All laundry is handled internally.
• Visitors are not permitted.
• Provide consistent health updates to inform friends, family and community.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

We're all in this together. You can do your part with a few simple but essential actions:

• Wear a mask.
• Wash your hands frequently.
• Limit gatherings to family or small groups.
• Maintain distance from others of at least six feet.

July 27, 2020

We're committed to keeping you updated with the latest health information.

As you know, last week all Columbia Basin Care residents and staff were tested for covid-19. We are awaiting test results and will update you as we know more.

Today, however, we have learned one staff member is undergoing separate testing. Test results are pending and we will notify you as we have more information.

In this challenging time, we're working hard to protect you and those you love.
We appreciate your patience and understanding.

July 23, 2020

We're committed to keeping you informed with the latest updates regarding Covid-19 and how it affects you and your loved ones:

Covid Testing:
The virus is rapidly spreading in our area, and nursing homes remain at high-risk for infection due to the group setting and vulnerable population. As a result, mass testing is now required at all long-term care facilities. Testing of Columbia Basin Care residents and staff was conducted this week; we are awaiting test results and will keep you informed as we know more.

Outdoor Visits:
A recent change in state guidelines now allows outdoor visitation, with limitations. We are working closely with state officials to put the proper precautions in place to ensure residents may visit with friends and family in the safest way possible. While this is not yet an option at Columbia Basin Care, we anticipate more information soon and will let you know if/when outdoor visits are approved.

As covid cases rise, we urge you to continue with proven precautions: wear a mask, keep your distance, wash your hands, and limit gatherings to small groups of people.

In this challenging time, please know that we are working hard to serve you and those you love.

July 17, 2020

We're committed to keeping you informed and have an important update regarding Covid-19. The virus is rapidly increasingly in our area, and nursing homes remain at high-risk for infection due to the group setting and vulnerable population. To reduce the likelihood and severity of an outbreak, mass testing is now required at all long-term care facilities.

By state and federal mandate, testing is mandatory for all Columbia Basin Care employees and strongly encouraged for all residents.

We are working with local and state health officials to coordinate testing and ensure Columbia Basin Care is in compliance with state and federal mandates. To that end, Oregon Health Authority, with the Veteran's Administration, will conduct on-site testing on Monday, July 20 and Tuesday, July 21, 2020.

Columbia Basin Care has considered the needs and desires of each resident. For those who are able to make their own healthcare decisions, we have discussed the situation and have obtained verbal consent regarding testing preference. For those unable to make their own decisions, we have contacted individuals with power-of-attorney or guardianship.

We'll keep you informed as test results are available. In this challenging time, please know that we are working hard to serve you and those you love.

June 19, 2020

We're committed to keeping you informed with health updates:
At this time, we have no confirmed cases of Covid-19 in our facility.

Though Oregon is in various stages of re-opening, care facilities still operate with restrictions. We continue to follow health guidelines determined by federal, state, and local health officials, including:

• No Visitors - We anticipate guidance on possible changes to visitor policies and will contact you as soon as we know more.

• Active Health Screening of Every Employee.

• Rigorous Cleaning and Sanitizing.

March 14, 2020

We know many of you are concerned about the spread of COVID-19 and its impact at our community. Following a declaration of a National Emergency by the President, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) issued new guidance based on the latest recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The current recommendations are:

1.     Restrict ALL visitors, volunteers and non-essential health care personnel except for certain compassionate care situations, such as end-of-life situations. We understand that connecting with family members is incredibly important, and there are a variety of other ways you might consider connecting with them. These may include telephone, email, text, or through Skype or Facebook.

2.     Visits for end-of-life situations are to be handled on a case by case basis.  We will continue to screen every person entering the community as we have been and may need to issue PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) when necessary.

3.     Cancel all group activities.

4.     Cancel all communal dining.

We know this has been difficult for everyone, however, our number one goal is the safety of our residents and staff. To do this, it is imperative we take these measures to ensure we do everything possible to keep this virus out of our community.

At this time, we have no cases of COVID-19. We will continue to keep you informed and notify you of any changes.

Infection Control

REDUCING RISK OF CORONAVIRUS & INFLUENZA

March 11, 2020

In this time of extreme caution, we are working hard to protect & serve our vulnerable population. For this reason, we are following the new state mandate that limits visitors to essential individuals only.

Essential individuals include:
• Facility staff
• Outside medical personnel
• Vendors
• Adult protective services staff
• Licensing/Survey staff
• Long Term Care Ombudsman and Deputies (not volunteers)
• Friends or family members visiting during end of life stages
• Friends or family who are essential for the individual’s emotional well-being and care.

In consultation with the Oregon Health Authority and under State of Oregon order, we are enforcing the following policies:

• Designated visiting hours are 9am to 4pm.

• All visitors will be screened before entering facility. Visitors will be evaluated for signs or symptoms of respiratory infection, such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, or sore throat; asked if there has been contact, in the last 14 days, with someone with a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19, or under investigation for COVID-19; asked whether there has been international travel within the last 14 days to countries with sustained community transmission.

• Group and community activities have been limited.

In addition to enforcing the above policies, we encourage the following:

Postpone Visits Unless Necessary.
We recommend alternative methods such as telephone, skype, facetime, email, text, etc.

·  Limit Community Exposure.
Please do not take your loved one into the community, except for medical necessity.

·  No Outside Food.
Outside food is discouraged to minimize as a means to minimize potential germs.

·  Essential Visitors.
We are working with residents and their Power of Attorney to determine who they designate as “essential”. The individuals listed as essential will be limited to two people. However, we still encourage limits on face-to-face visits at this time.

·  Designated Visiting Area.
Visits will be isolated to a designated area and/or resident rooms. We ask that you do not use the resident bathrooms, and that you limit your movement within the building.

·  Physical Contact.
Please limit physical contact with your loved one and staff. This is for the safety of everyone. Please practice social distances: no-handshaking, hugging, and remain six-feet apart.

We're taking all preventative measures to protect our residents, staff, and visitors. At this time, we have no cases of COVID-19 in our community.

We understand this may be disruptive and unsettling. It is with utmost caution that we work to serve those in our care. We appreciate your understanding and patience.

March 9, 2020

We know many of you are concerned about the spread of COVID-19 (the new coronavirus) and how it may impact those living and working at Columbia Basin Care. Ensuring residents are cared for in a safe and healthy environment is our greatest concern.

At this time, we have no cases of COVID-19 in our community. However, we do have confirmed cases of the seasonal cold/flu and we're taking all preventive measures to protect our residents, staff, and visitors.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has recommended a variety of steps that we are implementing to help reduce the potential for the virus to enter our building. However, we need your help.

We've included actions you can take to  help protect residents, and prevent spread throughout the community.

At this time, we request that you do not visit Columbia Basin Care if you have any symptoms of respiratory illness. Those symptoms include: cough, fever, sore throat, runny nose, and/or shortness of breath. We understand that connecting with family members is incredibly important, and there are a variety of other ways you might consider connecting with them. These may include telephone, email, text, or through Skype or Facebook.

Columbia Basin Care is following the recommendations of the CDC on prevention steps, including following strict handwashing procedures, and in many circumstances, wearing gowns and gloves when interacting with residents who are sick. We also are staying informed with CDC recommendations as they are updated. In addition, Columbia Basin Care is in close contact with local and state health departments and are following their guidance. We have posted signs on our entry doors to notify visitors of the symptoms of COVID-19 and request that you not enter the building if you are experiencing these symptoms.

INFLUENZA - CORONAVIRUS - COVID-19
PRECAUTIONS AT COLUMBIA BASIN CARE

At Columbia Basin Care, we're taking exceptional precautions, above and beyond our normal infection control protocols, to ensure our residents are well and safe.

What Are We Doing?
We're working hard to reduce the risk of exposure and spread, with the following actions:

·       Hand sanitization required of everyone upon entry to building.

·       Increased disinfection of entire facility to reduce potential germs.

·        Group resident activities have been postponed.

·       Limited group meals in dining rooms.

·        Monitoring all residents for fever and cough.

·        Non-essential visitors, vendors, and volunteers visits have been limited.

·        Limiting travel by staff and residents between first and second floor.

·       Screening of staff daily.

·       Continuous communication with medical directors and providers.

·       Continuous in-service trainings with all departments.

·       Communication with the local and state public health for guidance.

·       Continuous review of Oregon Health Authority and CDC updates.

·       No outside food is allowed.

·       No pet visits.

·       All laundry is handled internally.

·       Social media and website consistently updated to inform friends and family.

·       Essential visitors are screened for temperature and health conditions.

We are screening personnel entering building and if the following criteria apply they will be not be allowed entrance:

·   You have symptoms of illness or have been in close contact with someone with symptoms of illness, including fever, cough, and shortness of breath.

·   You have recently returned from travel to any country with a CDC-issued Level II or Level III travel advisory, such as China, South Korea, Italy, Iran, and Japan.

·   Visits should be delayed for at least 14 days after return to the US, and you can confirm no symptoms of illness such as fever, cough, and shortness of breath.

What Can You Do?
Like many of the easily-transmissible diseases and viruses we prepare for every day in our community, you can do your part with a few simple but essential actions:

·       Wash your hands frequently.

·       Cough and sneeze into a tissue or your elbow, not your hands.

·       Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.

·       Stay home if you are sick.

March 2, 2020

We're watching closely news of the coronavirus (COVID-19).

To reduce the risk of impact in our community, we have proactively prepared our employees in risk reduction techniques and procedures. The good news is the guidance from the CDC on how to prevent the spread of the disease completely aligns with our current infection control program.

Practicing robust infection control is always important, but even more important during cold and flu season. Knowing that news of an unknown virus being present in the U.S. may raise questions or concerns from you, we would like to briefly share the current facts about the virus as well as provide you the confidence that we are dedicated to making our community safe for all.

Coronavirus causes a mild to moderate upper-respiratory tract illness. According to the CDC, those affected generally exhibit cold-like symptoms including fever, cough, and shortness of breath. It spreads through contact with another infected person, such as being too close during a cough or sneeze. This general route for disease spreading mimics that of the typical cold or flu.

Our facility offer robust infection control procedures aimed to reduce the risk of spreading through:

  •  Health care professionals who continually monitor the current guidance to ensure the steps                                          taken follow information received from reputable sources.

  • Connection to national, state and county health departments to remain informed.

  • Housekeeping on site with enhanced cleaning schedules of all surfaces.

  • Education and training provided regularly to all staff and residents on proper infection control                                        practices and equipment usage.

  • Culinary teams adhere to rigid guidelines from the FDA for food sourcing and processing, along with safe storage techniques and stricter sanitation standards than most private homes.

  • Responsive measures to quickly and appropriately intervene should anyone with symptoms arise and need our support.

What can you do to help?

  • Wash your hands. This remains the best method to prevent the spread of any virus.

  • Cough or sneeze into your sleeve or tissue. Throw tissues directly in the trash.

  • Remain in your room if you have any symptoms of a cold or other respiratory virus.

  • Encourage visitors to delay their visit if they are ill.

We appreciate your understanding as our staff is even more vigilant in enforcing our standards around infection control for the foreseeable future. We will continue to monitor and keep you informed of any changes.

Safe & Secure

ENSURING SAFETY FOR ALL

Safety is a top priority. We operate with daily precautions and safety procedures, and are prepared for emergency events. To meet the needs of residents and staff during an emergency or disaster situation, Columbia Basin Care has developed a comprehensive Emergency Response Plan.

The Plan describes the process of preparing for, mitigating, responding to, and recovering from emergencies. The program also addresses how Columbia Basin Care would coordinate with other healthcare facilities, as well as the local Wasco County community during an emergency or disaster.

Specifically, the plan addresses the following facility and emergency planning elements:

• Plan Administration and Responsibilities, including: Program Administrator, Emergency Response Team Coordinator, Back-up Emergency Response Coordinator, and Emergency Response Team

• Hazard Vulnerability Assessments (HVA)

• Communication Systems

• Shelter in Place provisions

• Response Partners and Supporting Organizations

• Disasters

• Training, Drills & Exercise

In the event of an emergency, we will update this website with phone numbers for updates and specific information regarding our status. During the emergency, a designated person in the facility will be assigned as a communications person in charge of all necessary communication.
